Fri & Sat trolling

rolled out early on sea dog with capt. jimmy, auggie dog and waterboy on good seas. crossed the ledge water temp @68. deployed the spread looking for that Hoo bite. didn’t see a flyer or fish untill 7:30 in 312’ @ 72deg. put 3 mahi in the boat quick then it was slow all morn just picking at them. trolled from 1200’ out past the 380 hole and worked our way south as the wind was going to pick up in the pm. around 1 pm the wind and waves were steady increasing and so was the bite. flyers were everywere in 74deg water and the bite got hot for us. the stronger the wind the better the bite! wind was blowing the dinks across the weighted skirts and the fish were nailing everything crossed up. this hot bite went on for about 1hr and we ran out of fresh bait and the deck was covered with blood and trashed rigs. a nice bull crossed from one side of the wake to the other grabbing every bait he could. we saw him leave the water several times and got him to the boat on 2 rods. Me and capt. jimmy both had to claim him!

by the time we got him in the boat the 25kt winds were knocking the tops of the 4/5 footers, called it a day and had a wet yet comfortable ride in. nice box of fish today and started out slow but ended with a bang!
hit the rack at 11:00pm and rolled out again at 2:30 to catch a ride with realfisf01. same deal this morning after a great ride out(radar was key), crossed the ledge water was 68 so we kept going. hit 71 out in 600’ and lines in. very slow all day but was a pretty day as you will get! found a rip with green water on one side, blue on the other with 2.5 temp change and weed trying to form up. trolled this break for four hrs thinking they would be piled up somewere. picked at them all afternoon, never got thick with them. picked up some casting along the rip as we trolled and the penuts were tagged and freed. ended up with a nice box of meat, just not great size.ended up just east of bubble rock 75 miles from the rocks. headed
