Friday 10/18, Wando Hwy.41

I put in near the bridge at noon and paddled straight to my “go to” drains. The first drain didn’t produce anything but the second one was busy. 1st cast with a jig head and gulp shrimp and I missed the hook set on a stud red. He shot out into deeper water but there were a few more. The 2nd cast this nice red hooked up and pulled me out of the drain into the creek. What a ride! I ended up having my leader fail after hooking in to another nice red and then I had a hook break. Rookie mistakes, I gotta pay more attention to my tackle. Also caught a undersized trout and flounder on trout tricks. Short trip, I was back home by 3pm.

Ivy, are you putting in on the Cainhoy or Mt Pleasant side of the 41 bridge? I’ve been wanting to launch from the Cainhoy side at those pull offs but I thought I saw signs posted saying no parking/trespassing.
