Went out to find some hoos. Trolled out to 700’ no luck,decided to go bump bottom wife caught first keeper snapper but couldnt keep it had a few popped lines.Headed back to hill loaded boat on trailer and found this crack in hull.Back to shop for warranty work and time to get rid of it

Nice Fish, that sucks with the cracks, I’d be interested to know the $$ for repair? Never had this problem, but I’m sure with fiberglass it’s always a possibility… Good thing came back in 1 piece and all were safe

that’s no impact crack, hull was flexing too much for the gelcoat/glass. Need a better picture to tell if it was a dry lay-up or just underbuilt.
Sorry pictures of crack are so blurry,dont think I hit anything.Warranty is covering work so will never know cost most likely.Will have new boat to me by spring if all go’s well.Want be a sea anything.

I thought bottom fishing was outlawed, and they would burn you at the stake for even slowing down to try it.

No you can still bottom fish but cannot keep fish from the snapper/grouper catagory. You are still allowed to fish for BSB and other bottom dwellers.

jdesantesjr, watch your wording as they may just feel that would be for the best as well and we would all really suffer.We all thinks it’s bad now, could you imagine if you got fined for stopping your boat for blacks,trigger ect… As BYTE ME said the only bottom restriction is snapper/grouper family. Probably a Grady 282 sailfish,Warranty company is going to buy my boat so as soon as that takes place the search will be on.Have some contacts in florida so there should be a better selection.Looking with a open mind so a whaler or pursuit is not out of the ?
