Friday Afternoon Fishing

What are your thoughts about fishing tomorrow afternoon? The front is passing today and tonight. My (limited) experience is the fishing is off the day after the front passes.

Don’t know if you don’t go, just wanted to get some ideas from others.

Post front does tend to make for some tough fishing, no doubt, but you know what they say about a “bad day” of fishing…

Plus, you have ZERO chance of catchin’em if you don’t go.

Earn it everyday…

i agree, 100% on the post frontal fishing. never done too well. but opertunities on the water do not come as frequently as they use to! i am also not real eager to fight the marsh trash that will be brought out with the high tides in conjunction with the oncoming weather…

You are pretty hard core if you go fishing tomorrow.

I have fished in worse, but I am going to do some yard work instead while it’s cool and breezy. :sunglasses:

Between this thread and my buddy telling me there won’t be fish because “the worm hatch is on” its like I shouldn’t even bother splashing the boat. That being said, spending a beautiful May Friday lowcountry evening on the Stono with a beer in one hand and a rod in the other… call me hardcore.

I’ve been planning for weeks and finally have time this weekend to take my pontoon row out. At this point, come hell or high water I’m going to get at least one day in this weekend.

“You can’t buy happiness. But you can buy fishing tackle, which is pretty much the same thing.”

When the wind is nuts like it’s supposed to be today, I take some beefy pyramid sinkers and bait, and just fish for whiting and similar. Probably going to be my plan for tomorrow. You can usually still find whiting and such even with lousy wind patterns. Tossing cut mullet can also net you the typical inshore slam possibilities. Just, good luck finding the mullet lol.

Only calling for NW 5-10 tomorrow.

Yup, we’re hitting it tomorrow. Trapped up some nice mud minnows this afternoon, a few of them are the biggest muds I’ve ever seen.
