After weeks of dodging wind, rain, and cold, finally figured today was a good time to go, so picked up my dozen herring from Lake World. Surprise, it was a little bit windier than expected, so following a tip from Richard, worked 20 foot water of Beards. Caught a nice 23 incher before I got all three rods deployed. Nice start. Little later had two rods go off at the same time. That’s a pain when you’re by yourself, but a good problem to have. Caught one lost one. Couple violent arguments with the gulls. Ran out of bait much too soon, a dozen didn’t cut it this morning. Total was a short, 21, 23, 24, and 25 in. Had a few on that I lost. All in all, great morning, even if I was out by myself.
It was a fast bite this morning. I too went out with only about a dozen herring. I just wanted to be on the water! In about 20 minutes I was out of bait after a couple of doubles and a triple. Caught 2 keepers and the rest shorts… Fished 30 to 40 ft

Hey Mike. Glad you got out and caught a few. Good to see you posting, as well.
My day was spent at the Bayless Fish Hatchery and the fish lift. Good trip that I’d highly recommend
