Caught 20 or so redfish and 30 or so trout on Friday, and I turned around and basically had about the same results on Sunday. The majority of the redfish were young 12"-14". All were set free to grow up. The same can be said about the trout. Most were those “13 3/4” rascals that just don’t quite make it. In any event, I still caught plenty of nice keeper trout in the mix too. Sunday was a little better for slot sized reds around 20". I caught a couple of 30 plus inch fish too. Most of the fish were caught on shrimp under a float–including the one in the pic. I grew up bream fishing, so I don’t mind fishing with a float. And, it just plain works when most other things are not as effective. The shrimp are getting bigger and they are getting thicker. As long as we don’t get too much fresh water, I’m optimistic for shrimping season.

Nice report, I think we may have crossed paths. You fishing the Rockville area? If so I had a pretty good weekend fishing that area, seems that things are turning for the better lately, caught 20 or so reds Sunday morning all of which were 20 to 21 inches on cut menhaden floating the bank. Along with some sharks and a couple flounder!
