Friday Eve 8/22 Report - HOT

In summary - HOT - weather that is, not the fishing.

Left the dock with first mate ~6:30 with a couple of trolling rods. Rode around a bit to cool off. Tried to slow down to set out the gear - but it was just toooo dang hot to move that slow. Hooks never got wet. Saw 4 or 5 other boats trolling the big pool, and the Tower crowd was out.

BEAUTIFUL sunset though!! We are blessed to have such a gorgeous lake in the Midlands!

Will try again Sunday after the front pushes through.

I was out with Coolbreeze, launched about the same time as you. We never marked a ton of fish but we were able to get a limit jumping around. Fished 3 different points all about 55’ when we hit the fish. Most of them were solid keepers, a couple might have been 20". It was hot and the sun going down didn’t seem to help much.

Steelytom,

Glad to hear y’all got a limit! Was trolling Sunday evening in C4, C2, D2 and marked fish on points anywhere from 45 to 60 feet. May try to get out with bait one evening before the Labor Day weekend madness

Read on another thread that y’all are moving to PA. Good luck with the move!

Dano,
You called it right. I hate being on the water on a Holiday- but sometimes it works out that way.
The good thing is after this weekend, the boat traffic really lightens up a bunch and a lot of the water mosquitoes (Jet Skis) go in the garage. I can’t wait.

Thanks Dano.

It definitely lightens up with Hunting season upon us. My favorite time to fish is a Saturday night when the Gamecocks are playing. I have the lake to myself. Plus it’s usually one of the better times of year for fishing.
