Friday fishing- Dolphin

Went out to do some bottom fishing in 70-90 ft with a couple of old friends on board. Small rollers on the way out quickly laid down to flat calm. Went by the Edisto 60 on the off chance we might still be some spades around, then fished around a bunch of numbers. Pulled up to one spot in 90ft and was shocked to see 3 dolphin at the boat. One of the guys grabbed one of the two inshore rods we brought along for spades, Battle 3000 with 10# line still rigged with the trout trick from inshore fishing the day before, and tossed it out. Hooked up immediately on the TT. I grabbed the other inshore rod that still had a Cajun thunder cork and 1-0 circle hook. Put on finger mullet and hooked a second. Got mine in and left the other in the water to keep the third one around but could not get him to bite. Finally started tossing out finger mullet and brought in the second. He finally turned on to the chum and we got him to take one with a hook. 3 dolphin on inshore tackle in 90 ft in October. Crazy. Ended up with 8 or so triggers, 12 BSBs, 3 pinks. Release 6 medium sized red snapper, big AJ and big cuda and a bunch of small bottom fish. Had a few big ones on but could not get them in the boat. Beautiful day on the water.
