Friday fishing with the wunderkins!

Got out with the kids today in preperation for the Reelin-4Kids tourney this weekend. Beautiful but hot day when the wind wasn’t moving. Water temp 87 degrees.

I put the boat in the water with kids aboard and tie it off. Park the trailer and when I come back to get in the boat, Megan is HOOKED UP![:0] 3 minutes in the water and she jacks a 19" red. It was her first red on artificial.:slightly_smiling_face: You just never know!

We then went where we MEANT to catch fish. Both kids fished artficial a good bit today and Ethan wound up snagging 2 blue fish on Z-mans and a flounder on mm. Quite proud of the boy, also!:slightly_smiling_face:

Another hi-lite was when the kids hit the double hook up! Megan had a red hooked up (Ethan was bumming) then he’s like “WE GOT A DOUBLE!!!” and he hauled in a flounder at the same time. :smiley:SWEET!

Wound up with a few little reds, and a nice 27", all caught on mud minnows. Kids got 4 fish a piece, Dad/guide got the 27"! Had one nice one we must have barely hooked get away and one breakoff.

Cool how the kids took to the artificials! A whole new ball game - again!

My view from the dock - fish in the boat! Who needs Dad!

Meg with her catch

Megan with a pretty little spottail

Ethan with a toady!

Ethan with his first ever catch on artificial - just as DFreedom showed up to say hello. Good, seeing you and the family, Doug!

:slightly_smiling_face:Wunderkins with the double hook up!!:slightly_smiling_face: (the red was CHOMPING Meg’s thumb :face_with_head_bandage: thus the look on her face) LOL!!

Dad s

Hey, I do not remember signing a release for that picture…Ha Ha. Glad you guys had a good day. I have no doubt you guys will accord yourselves well in the tournament. Connor (my oldest) caught 2, 13" flounder and that was it for the day. Actually considering it was a “boating” trip and not a “fishing” trip, I am surprised we caught those. The weird catch of the day was this guy, caught him in a cast net. Good Luck this weekend Vin and Kids!

</font id=“quote”></blockquote id=“quote”>That’s a rule of mine that I adopted a long time ago. If I catch a fish, I let them bite me. Those trout ‘vampire’ teeth can almost get through my thumb nail. Just my way of giving back for the joy of fishing. I forgo the rule with sharks and blues and toad fish and…

Awesome, Vin! Good luck on the tourney, can’t wait for the report!

Nice job fishing. That little red had a big meal in mind!
