Friday fishing!!

Left at 8:30 with my visiting Nephew Patrice from Germany. We picked up a License for him and i wanted to put Him on a shark.Headed to one of my shark spots and hooked up right away.A nice 4 foot Bonnet.I made a mistake and did not have some big circle hooks so i used a Wired Blue fish hook.I forgot to bend the barb so the Bonnet was hooked pretty good.Tried to remove the hook and he flipped on the gunnel and broke the line and swam off.He came up several times and finally was gone.I feel terrible i could not get the hook out before he went over the side.We decided to go chase reds and my motor started acting up.My primer bulb is usually hard and i never have had to squeeze it in 3 years,This time it was very soft??? After the squeeze it ran fine.i will change the whole line at the PM.We wound up at a Redfish spot and put out 4 crab and mullet chunk lines.1.5 hours and no hit we headed home.Saw a Man and his Wife on a dock that I know and slowed to chat.He told me the reds were just out of his casting range.I went to the spot He suggested and power poled down.No fish for us but they pulled in 5 in 20 minutes. He told us to come on the dock.I really did not want to impose on them but He insisted so we did.He caught a 3 foot gar and Patrice caught his fist Redfish a 14 inch 3 spots on one side only.We had to get back so we called it a day.I am going to run out again and fish that dock Sunday or Monday.I want a big red picture for my nephew to take home.Today I will hit Haddrells and get some big circle hooks and rig some shark rigs.Beautiful day on the water.

Is it even worth my time to chase reds in the Stono right now joe or should I just go for trout? (where are the trout haha) but more importantly where are the reds

Good story, thanks for your continual updates. I am still learning.

Reds are moving around.Keep looking you will find them.

Stonoman

Plenty of reds right now. Singles and doubles scattered all over the place. Loose schools of 5-15 fish around the docks.
