Friday Flats

Saw the tides were high this week and made a plan to hit the walk to flat at least 3 times this week. After day 2 no fish and only seeing 1 tail, I was starting to doubt my plan. Decided to give it one last shot today after seeing that the tide was pushing in fast. Went for it… and it paid off. The first 10 mins out see a nice tail, but no action. 15 Mins later, another tail and 2 casts later Fish on! 23 inches and great lookin spots. Home an hour and half later. To bad the only camera was on the blackberry but still managed to get 2 pics. Will try to upload if I can figure it out.

1 Fish made it a good week!

In about 1ft of water, using Gulp crab.

Thanks for the great report.

NOTE TO FLATS NEWBIES: This is a great post because it points out that you often have to sit quietly and WAIT to see the fish. You can talk to your buddy without scaring them, but moving around will definitely spook fish. DW had to wait 10 minutes to see the first tail and 15 minutes to see the second one. Stop, look, and listen. They are almost always there, all around you.
