Friday may 12 dolphin fishing

Left ripleylightmarina around 4:30am heading south. Water temperature was 74 and water was green until we hit 350 feet. At 350 feet the water turn blue and temperature ranged 76 to 77 degrees. We found some great weed lines and fished a 2 mile area most of the day. We picked up about 11 dolphin in that area. The way back went off and Ryan grabbed the rod. The reel was screaming and so was Ryan. We had hooked up a blue marlin and he was about to spool 800 yards of 50 lb test line. The marlin put on a nice shows for a little while and then managed to cut the line. Probably over 400lbs. The seas kicked up so we decided to troll towards the jetties. In 300 feet we saw hundreds of birds working 2 separate areas so we pulled in beside the birds and the dolphin were there. We loaded up 4 more dolphin and decided to leave with the bit on. The wind was still blowing. We made it back with 15 gaffer dolphin and the image of the big blue tail walking behind the boat.
