Friday put in at dead low tide(3:30p.m.) in a new area. Paddled around and found some good looking spots out of the wind. Difficult conditions only caught 1 small red. Monday went back out a little later and headed to the inlet with some blue crabs hoping for the man. Had a blast being pulled around by bonnetheads. Broke off 4 unknown large fish caught 4 bonnetheads 3-4 and one other shark I could not identify mainly because once I saw his size I wanted him as far away as possible (my kayak is 14’ and he was every bit of 1/2 of it). After I pulled up anchor that fish pulled me up and down the inlet for 22 minutes, what a blast!
P.S. I would not recommed attempted rig recovery even from the small ones. I grabbed a 3’ bonnethead by the tail and ended up very wet with him inside my cockpit. Beer spilled but manhood intact I recoverd my hook and sent him on his way.
