Friday Night Murray

Got a late start. Looked for the fish between Spence and the towers along the river channel. We didnt see all that much, just a few scattered singles. When we arrived at the towers, people were already pulling them in. We had three fish on and lost them. It was a first, but I did buy all new hooks. #2 hooks, short shank with knida a small twist. I usually use my plastic worm bass hooks and never lost fish, now all of sudden three. I think I’m changing them all back. I’m going to spend more money on the laser sharp hooks I normally buy. We ended up boating only 2, 18" and 23". We saw the lighting off in the distance and headed for the hill. As we were driving across the Dam, I know the wind was blowing 40 mph. Good call. We could saw everyone else trying to make it back, and it didnt look fun. The navigation lights on the boats were bobbing around like toys. I’m still wondering about the size of hooks for stripers. What size do yall use?

Eagle Claw L042, #4 most of the time, #2 on larger baits.

I like #1 and #2 circle hooks. Gamagatsu’s are good(sp?)but I prefer the owners when i can find them.

Friday night got a little sporting. Got skunked but had a first that night. Took my first wave(s) over the bow. Glad it was a warm night. Probably gunna try tonight or tomorrow if the weather holds up.

I use 2/0 and 3/0 Eagle Claw circle hooks and the only ones I’ve lost broke the line.

I’d rather fish than eat.

A gun in the hand is better than a cop on the phone.

Gamakatsu Octopus Circle, size depends on bait. Seriously bad hook! Used on the Hill, but don’t use bait on murray b/c of so many undersized fish. #2 or #1 are good. Hope this helps.
