Friday night

Anyone planning on going out Friday evening? We’ll be camping near Beards Creek and was thinking about giving night fishing a shot.

I’m going to go out for a while…mostly to look around for fish and mark some potential spots to fish tomorrow night in the Lake World Night Tournament, but I may have to at least pick up a couple of dozen baits to drop down for a little while also.

Where do you camp at near Beards Creek?.. that Woodmen Of The World property?

I will be out also. Doing a lil bait droppin on some stuff i marked last night.DNR was at the ramp last night checking everything and everyone make sure you have yours P’s and Q’s together. Makes the process alot faster when there is a “checkout” line…and they were stayin late they said. I told them i was glad to see them out there checking.

Tough to enforce the new rules from the ramp, but at least they will catch the people keeping over the limit.

What’s the story with the Woodmen of the World? I fished with a guide who launched out of there. He said he bought an insurance policy to get access. Does anyone know any details about the organization?
**** I apologize for hijacking the thread******

I went there for a luncheon at my wife’s church before. That’s how I’m aware of it. Beautiful piece of property with a boat ramp and nice building to hold event’s, but that’s about all I know about it.

I had said I was going to look into it, but just never got around to in. I never understood if you have to just buy a policy??? or is it like an Amway type deal of Life Insurance???

Would luv to hear from someone who knows.

My intro to them 40 some years ago was a loose connection/link to Robin Hood and his group in the woods. At that time it encompassed insurance, social gatherings, and retirement villages.

Hope anybody going out this evening does better than we did this morning. Absolutely could not locate the fish. Not a single strike. The Capt’s looking for a new crew.

sorry for the late response about camping near Beard’s Creek but we are members of the Lake Murray Boating and Sports Club. It’s a small private club off of Beards. It’s been around since the early 50’s and we have a clubhouse , private ramp and docks plus around 8 camper hookups. We’ve been members for 6 years and love it. If you were in the area Saturday around 3 till 7 pm and heard music it was a band we had playing on the point at the club.
As far as Woodmen it is a fraternal organization that deals mostly with life insurance, 401K’s, and the such. If you purchase a policy or any of their other services I think it gives you access. It’s not like Amway…no pyramid sales.
