Friday on the Stono

Day off from work. My friend wanted to take his boat out for a “run”. Seemed like a perfect match!! We fished the Stono, down towards Kiawah. It was WINDY! But we hit a spot that produced three reds and one puffer fish in probably less than two hours. Down near the airport. It was about two hours into the falling tide. Water was coming out of the grass. Two of the reds were keepers, 21" and 20". Both keepers hit on minnows under a float drifting along the grass. The smaller one hit shrimp heads on the bottom.

the rest of the day…nada.

Good Day off from work!

nice job. did better than me I was out beautiful in the am but wind picked up pretty stiff. not a bite or sign of fish all day. :frowning:

I know that spot! Congrats on a nice day on the water.

Me to. Did you happen to catch that big red that got away with my rod 2 years ago?? I would like it back.

A wise man once said “Do as I say not as I do” Good advice when I tell you that.

That was yours??? Well, it tasted pretty darn good! The rod was released unharmed!
