Friday Report

I picked up one of Rick K’s rental guests Joe at Big Man’s this morning for some LR fishing. Though the bite was slow, we enjoyed the day and had great conversation. It’s always great meet and fish with new people. Like my buddy Rick, Joe also happens to be one of our great Vietnam War veterans!

We ended up with fish of 6,7, and 8 pounds pulling in 6-10 feet of water and only mustered 6 bites all day long. The Little River is getting muddier and trashier by the minute. I’m sure this weekend’s rain will make things nearly impossible up there for a couple of weeks. Still, we had a great time!

Some days, it’s not all about the numbers.

Thanks Fog, for taking a fellow Vet fishing. I am sure he learned a lot that he did not know since his main fishing waters are Lake Erie.

In 15 years of renting my cottages, this is the first Vet that I have had, that was awarded 3 Purple Hearts.

Hay Rick,
Give that guy a hug for me, you are both true HEROS!! Thanks for serving our country.
James-thanks for showing this Vet a good time.

It was my pleasure Rick and Bones. Joe’s a great guy to fish with. I wish the river stripes had cooperated a little better, but mission accomplished.

Thanks Bones, but I know he and I do not consider ourselves “HEROS”. We just did our job. And we are both paying a price for it in our later years!

Getting old is a *****. Getting old as a wounded Vet is a real PITA! Just ask my wonderful team mates (or my beautiful wife), that take excellent care of “this old man”!

Thank you Fog and Gary for all of the help in the last several years!

Thanks for your service Rick. I know you guys returning from Vietnam did not get the respect you deserved when you returned and I can’t imagine what that had to be like. Know that your sacrifice is very much appreciated!

I also would like to thank you for your service Mr Rick. You know the respect I have for you as a friend and a Vet and the charitable events that you are involved in. The testimonials on your website by your many tenants say volumes of the person that you are. YOU are well known as a great fisherman from people in many clubs glad you switched to MSC and stripers .Happy to be your neighbor in Crystal Lake See y’all at the banquet My best to Randy and Helen…
