Fried volt regulator, CDI, etc. Yamaha F100

A couple of weeks ago, I found a blown 30A fuse under the cowling on my 2002 Yamaha F100… motor wouldn’t turn over, Tilt wouldn’t work, power pole inoperative. I replaced fuse…everything worked fine…at least as far as I could tell. Went fishing Saturday and noticed only 11.7 volts but it didn’t register that I was witnessing a problem. After a couple of hours, motor wouldn’t start, tilt no work, power pole down and no work. Replaced starter battery with troll motor battery and came home. After I got home, the 2nd battery was dead.

Also have 3 bank charger installed.

Reconnected all cables this morning and took it in for service…need regulator, stator and CDI…WOW! …what did I do to it? How did I get it back by simply changing batteries?

did you replace the batteries recently?

Starter battery last fall and added trolling motor and two batteries this spring.

if you happen to have hooked up the batteries wrong, it could have fried all those things

I had a similar problem and fried my rectifier(s/p?). I replaced it, and my boat ran for about 2 hours before blowing the 30amp again. FWIW, I replaced a lot of the wiring and connections. After doing the same, I believe it was a faulty ground connection to tilt trim switch in my controls (yamaha f100). Good luck!
