Frog Giggin

My wife loves some frog legs, she ate them a lot living next to a swamp in Bamberg, however I have no clue where to start… I would like to gig some for her so we can have a fried frog leg dinner now and again.
I know obviously I need some form of head lamp and a gig with a barb at the end but where would I wade ? where has hard enough ground to walk around ? I live in the Charleston area but travel a lot to Moncks Corner, Orangeburg, St. Stephen…does anyone frog gig around here ? any tips ?

I haven’t done it in a while but my wife would eat them as fast as i could clean and cook them.
Any pond or lake with lilly pads and a nice bank for them to sit out of water is best. You can gig them or use a bb gun. But my favorite way which was great fun was to use a small trebble hook on the end of my fishing line. I would shine light on them and drop the hook under their chin and yank. Sometimes they would eat it before I dropped it under their chin. They think it is an insect. Now you have a bullfrog jumping around on the end of your fishing line:smiley:
Brings back fond memories.
