from shore

Hello,
Any recommendations to throw a net from shore/ dock? coming down to visit after moving up north and would like to catch some shrimps. Thanks

That is what i have been doing the past 2 months. If the water is in the grass you’ll have no chance at shrimp. Wait for the water to be right at the edge of the grass on outgoing/incoming tide. Keep working up and down the dock to find what water depth they are at. it wa be as shallow as a few inches or up to a 5-6 feet. If there are oyster beds, throw just short of them or risk tearing your net. Don’t expect to catch a whole lot of shrimp but enough for 2 people or a good amount of bait. Shrimp will be in the medium size range too.

I shrimp from shore all the time for the last 20 years. Do well every time. Go to BrittleBank Park off lockwood drive near the boats the gate is always unlock.
