Will be staying on FB for a few days in a couple of weeks. Can anyone suggest where I might buy frozen squid/bait/etc. in that area?
Thanks for any help.

Crosby’s on Folly road has everything you will need. Good people too.

Crosby’s has just about everything you need like Sailfish says. What kind of fishing you looking to do?

crosbys has got it all
say hi to the twins when your in there
ask for BUBBA DOO if your lucky hell be around
hes got all the info you could need out there
Crosby’s it is. Thanks for the responses. I hope to go out far enough to snag a couple of BSB for the frying pan, and if that doesnt work, maybe fish around inshore. Main plan is to be away from work. I need the break. I hope I don’t get smacked when I ask for Bubba Doo…hehehe

Try some of the shimano butterfly jigs for the BSB. Usually get the bigger ones using the jigs. With squid, its hard to fight through all the tiny BSBs. You’ll catch them all day long though…
Good luck.

Welcome back, we missed ya while you were playing with the penguins.

When you get back from fishing for the BSBs please post your report in discussion… let’s keep this up.

Pro tip right there. Super pro
Little follow-up report.Spent last week at Folly. Went to Crosby’s for bait, and met Tim Crosby in the store. Talked to him for awhile, and it was obvious he is “good people” like some of you guys said. Bought frozen squid, and a tee-shirt. (I am such a tourist some times).
Thursday the weather was great, and me and the gf headed to the Chas 60. Caught plenty of BSB, and even caught a dozen that were legal size. Tried jigs at every place we anchored, but never had any luck with them.It was her first fishing trip, EVER. She was stoked. There were a pair of comorants, or anhingas, or something, and they would chase the small ones we tossed back. They caught a few, too. Really wild watching those birds swimming up from under the boat. Water was crystal clear. Surface temp around 63 degrees.
Anyway, thanks for the helpful tips. Great week, and a great day on the water Thursday. Left part of our livers at the Sand Dollar Social Club…
Nice report!!
O’ the Dollar. Haven’t been there in years. They used to check you for weapons at the door, and if they caught you without one, they would issue you one. Had to cage the bands to protect them.
