What a day on the wando…took the wife and kids 3 y/o and 2 y/o. Figured i would do some fishing with the family. Younger one hooks up with small spot tail and older one had some puss on face…funny stuff. 1 hour in we realze its blazing hot today and with no top on my boat maybe a ride would be better. After ride i dropped all back at the dock and o headed bak out. Low tide so went up couple creeks ive seen some fish in and used trolling motor to get up deep in creek and when i turned corner …i came into a school of about 100 reds…couldnt stop quick enough so spooked a bunch…(gotta slow my approach) plenty fish around boat but couldnt hook up…threw everything i had at em. i coulda prob reached over and grabbed one. I did land 1 rat red on swim bait also 3 flounder on same bait. All live bait i had died very quickly. (Live well im making cant be done quick enuff) Def would done some damage with some shrimp or minnows(so i like to think). saw alot fish going through these creeks today…and they were def big fish. tide came in and went to dock ive been told about and threw a 1/4 jig with paddle tail and on second cast bam…pretty much spooled me and broke off.hardest ive been hit by fish since moving dow here. would loved to of seen that fish. one other chance and swung and missed. Landed small trout on troll back in to ramp. Never seen so many fish as i did today…def need to be more patient when getting to these spots and make a much slower approach. Seeing these fish is great but i need to start hooking up. Awesome day on water …cant beat fishing from 100 to 700,Thank u honey. Hopefully next time i land some of these reds. LOVE THIS PLACE!!
Great day… seeing those reds is a National Geographic moment, huh?
