Left the dock at 5:30 with high hopes and a bunch of newbies to get some wahoos at SW banks. Outside the jetties made the decision to run south instead to Ed Banks. Deployed the highish speed spread in 130’ and trolled to the banks to put out the rest of the lines. At 10:30 without even a cuda or short strike we decided to hit the bottom. We did manage some nice vermillion, pinkies and a couple of triggers but a super fast drift, sloppy conditions and a gauntlet of donkeys that at times were so thick my sonar thought they were the bottom provided challenging conditions for the novices on board. We ultimately moved shallower to finish out the day on a high note in much nicer seas where the bsb were willing and the AJs mostly missing. Sounds like we were not the only ones who have been plagued by them recently.
