Looking if anybody has any experience with charters for sailfish in the Stuart, Ft Pierce area. Looking for somebody that is more intersted in catching fish than saving fuel even if it means we have to pay a few extra dollars.
Take your pioneer and a handful of live bait rigs…caught plenty on live mullet and blue runners during November -Dec all within 15 miles of inlets…probably some local boats there still that time of year

Capt Scott Fawcett with Off the Chain Charters was great for us last year. Here is his website. http://www.offthechainfishing.com/
He does things right. He used 2 mullet dredges which was the first I have seen on a charter boat due to the cost and time in making them…most boats only do that for tournaments. I’m sure there are other good boats as well, but there are also some that are not worth the money. He was very honest with us about the best days to fish and told us not to waste our money on a day where the weather would likely turn off the bite when we planned on fishing. That is tough for a captain to do sometimes when he gets paid either way. Runs a 31 contender I believe. Good luck!
I fished with VJ Bell on Sea Check charters last year in the Dominican after a recommendation from local billfish celebrity Jay Weaver. VJ and the Sea Check are back in Stuart for the winter sailfish season.
VJ is known as one of the top sailfish guys down in that part of Florida and has many tournament wins. In the Dominican, we had an awesome time. We were allowed to hook our own fish and ended up with 2 blues and 2 whites in just a half day of fishing. Their professionalism is unmatched. They are friendly, want you to have a great time, and will design the trip around what you want to do. You can’t go wrong with VJ, especially in his own back yard.
And 80% of his business is repeat business if that tells you anything.
What would be biting there at that time of year? Curious because I have been contemplating something similar.

Thanks for the replies. It’s gonna be a quick fly in with a buddy and try to fish 1 full day and two half days on a sat through mon so trailering is out for this trip.

Scott Fawcett and VJ Bell are both as good as they get in Stuart. Scott has a 31 Contender and VJ runs a 60ish Spencer. If you are in Ft. Pierce then Glenn Cameron is the man. Glenn’s boat is the Flo Rider. Good luck.

As mentioned Scott Fawcett and VJ Bell are both top notch and are highly recommended. I’d also recommend Patrick Price on the Day Maker out of Stuart.
If you find yourself a little futher south in the Palm Beach area feel free to give me a call. I’m running sailfish charters down there through march on a 42 Yellowfin before I bring it back up to SC. We primarly live bait kite fish and fish hard to put our customers on the best action possible, even if it means burning more fuel to get to productive areas. check out our website at www.luckyhookerfishing.com
