Filled up at the front of the neighborhood and drove the 1/2 mile home to wait on my brother. Opened the rear hatch to put the hull plug in and found gas. Ohhhh-Oh! Opened all hatches. Removed battery. Disconnected from truck and noticed that after the first quart poured out of the hull drain, it stopped. So, the leak was in the top of the tank or one of the lines.
2 hrs and the consoles were out. One more and the cockpit sole was out the culprit was obvious.
Tank and main fill line looked great. Fuel feed line to motor looked good. Main fill line and motor feed where newer Type AII. The vent line was B1, I think. While I have her torn apart, I’m running new fuel feed to motor, new wiring to bilge pump, new vent line (obviously), and a few other clean up items. Relocating the batter and reorganizing the wiring. New fuel sender and gauge.
Lesson, if you have an older boat, check your lines. I am very lucky that I found this issue on the trailer in my yard. It could have been very nasty.
Since I had the main sole plate open, I figured I’d clean up the others. So, off with the fish hold lid and bilge cover.

The tank is a replacement, not original. The guys that did the work blew foam in around the front of the tank. It looks nasty but is still solid.

Again, if you have an older boat, check your lines. I thought all three (main fill, vent, and feed to motor) had been changed with the new tank years back. 'Thought I was ethanol safe. I was not.
