Fuel Restriction?

I ran my motor on the earmuffs last weekend after installing a new fuel separator. When I ran it this weekend, I noticed that the bulb was collapsed. The only way to re-inflate it was to unscrew the canister. I heard air rush and then the bulb inflated and I was able to pump it again.

I am wondering if I have a fuel restriction in the line leading from the barb on the supply side into the separator. The hose is crimped as it tries to curve from one barb to the other. BTW, the fuel line is new. I think that I am pulling some air when the motor calls for fuel. Would a 90 degree barb solve this problem?

You should have only smooth bend in the fuel line. A line that is bent to the point that it collapses is a definite problem. A 90 degree fitting is what you will need to fix it if you can’t replumb some other way.

I agree. I am going to install a 90 degree hose barb fitting to eliminate the possible fuel restriction. Thanks for your input.
