Up until last year, I have always filled the gas tank full, after each use and in winter when it’s laid up for 4-5 months. I stabilize the fuel if I don’t anticipate using it for greater than 2-3 weeks. This past winter, I stored it only 1/4 full.
I figure with the ethanol problems, it’s probably better to get fresh fuel with each use. Boat is kept in garage where temperature flucuations are slightly less (and ?hopefully therefore less condensation when the tank is not full). Any thoughts on whether this is the right thing to do?
with ethanol - less fuel in the tank is definitely better when not being used. if you’re going longer than 3 weeks or there may be a chance its longer between uses, then i would put some starton in it
as far as your “garage and condensation” question. if given enough time the ethanol will pull water from the air in the tank and contaminate the fuel. water isnt coming from condensation inside the tank
hopefully you have a fuel water seperator too
Thanks, Hoppy. I do have a racor. The first few trips this season I emptied it with each use. Pulling several cups of H2O and a brown/orange sediment. Probably a good idea to just get into the habit of doing it all the time. What’s the best way to “re-prime” the filter once the H2O is drained.

as long as you have fuel in the line past the filter and in the engine the fuel pump should refill it. if not just pump the bulb.
i change my fuel water separator 2, maybe 3 times a year. usually i just screw the new one on and go with no issues. every once in a while the engine will die after running for a few minutes. i just pump the bulb a few timesand it cranks with no other issues
