fuel tank

I have a 150gal. fuel tank in a 25ft contender. Somehow one of the baffles broke loss and broke the fuel sending unit. Does anyone know how to fix a broken baffle? The tank is glassed in and has 2 stringers running over it. Can I clean out the tank some how and cut it open to repair the baffle and have it welded back? I can get to the tank with the center console leaned back. Thanks.

It must be replaced. The tank fits b/t the stringers. It should be 185 gallons, not 150. If it is not 185, upgrade to a larger tank and make sure it is coal tar epoxy coated or similar protection.

The console and the center deck will need to be pulled. Your looking at a $2-3,000 repair.

While you are doing it, replace all your fuel lines and any wiring that needs to be done. The console equipment (electronics, steering, throttle cables, etc) are the biggest headaches of the job.
