Just installed a separator on the boat and it says to coat the seals with oil on the filter. I know I sound stupid but what type of oil should I use??? Thanks and have a great weekend.

Any kind - I had to dump mine recently twice while on the water and actually put the filter back on without oil. Just make sure you tighten it snuggly by hand and it is not leaking(check while priming with bulb).

You gotta love the South Carolina Lowcountry.
Any kind. I use vaseline. It just keeps the seal from sticking,when you spin the filter off to replace or dump it.
