Anyone know why a dual engine set up one fuel water separator would show a significant amount of water and the other engine would not?
I had one that was about 2/3 full with water and the other didn’t have any signs of water. I find this strange…

2 tanks? One pick up higher than the other?
Same tank, I have run the engine with more water in the filter about 9 hours longer.
The boat just sat before I got it, its a 2005 with 125 hours and I put 25 hours on it since August and about 35 on the engine with water in the filter.
different size pickups would make sense.
Try some Seafoam, it has always helped in my rarely used tanks! I seem to have always had some water in the alum, tank on my whaler and the Seafoam mixed with the mixed gas will run my 115 Yamaha but with out the stuff it won’t run at all. I always carry an extra filter and a plastic mayo jar to pour it in to to check the water. Before the first use of the trip I empty the filter and pump it full again and dump out the water. I might have to do it several times. Its crazy because I keep it in a cover shed.
Thanks, I had someone else tell me that as well.
I have a cheap 12V fuel pump I am going to open up the tank and try and drain the bottom layer of water and crap out of the tank. I can monitor it until I only get fuel out of it.
Also thinking about setting up a fuel polishing system. I need to have complete confidence in this boat if I am going to take it 50-70 miles offshore.
My Bertram sat up on the hill for 3 years with 165 gal in the alu. tank, when I drained it to refill I dumped 22 gal of water before I got any gas. Glad I installed a valve in the bottom end of tank when I had it built. I just attached a rubber hose and ran it out of the plug hole into a 5 gal bucket and changed buckets ever few min. then dumped into a 55 gal drum after letting them settle the water to the bottom. Good luck. Oh I ran the old gas in my Tundra with out any trouble, rather it cut off than my twin 5.7 out 50 mi!es
UNLESS TANK IS EXACTLY LEVEL, ONE PICK UP IS ALWAYS GOING TO BE A BIT LOWER THAN THE OTHER. THE LOWEST ONE IS ALWAYS GONNA PICK UP THE WATER.
