Left Remleys landing last Friday around seven and the weather was saying twos to threes. Got out to the jetties and decided to run out twenty eight miles to our spot and then maybe to Commanche. The wave height was 4’s to 5’s with some sixes. When we got out there it was about nine and the cooler was full around 10:30. We started throwing back keepers and since there was a storm coming we left. We rode into the waves on the way out and since the wind changed we still rode into them on the way back. It was a nasty day but at least we caught fish.
Fish Count
27 Black Sea Bass
9 Vermillion Snapper
9 Porgy
1 Gag Grouper
1 Dog Snapper
nice catch, however the size limit for gag grouper is 24 inches. I’m hoping it was an honest mistake but you might want to take the pics off bc you will probably catch a lot of grief for that one. Unless looks are deceiving and it is indeed 24 inches.

Funny…I fished a tournament Fri/Sat last weekend and didn’t see the first 5 footer…much less any sixes or sevens…better sell the Albemarle and get a Key West!!
That gag is an easy 24"…Look at the last picture…That grunt is an easy 20" and the gag has him by more than 4"…I would say that grunt would contest that new state record…Also when considering the porgy into play I would say the gag has him by 4".
