Full Cooler with newbie tips!

Mostly ice under about 3" of shrimp and nowhere close to a limit haha. My brother and I tried shrimp baiting for the first time this weekend. Headed to bb around 3 Friday. Caught 6 shrimp…but they were decent size at least. Left there around 6 and headed for the harbor. Got set up as the tide was turning. Did fairly well until 2am and then we had enough even though we were still catching them. Saturday night was a bust after high tide… should have stayed longer Friday!

Overall it was a good experience and the people that would talk to you were as nice as they could be.

Bulls bay was easy to get to out of Garris, but I wouldn’t suggest it to a beginner.

Newbie tips learned from this trip:
Take a head lamp light.
Take the time to get your poles set right (distance apart) so you can clear your net and reset before next pole with little effort.(fiberglass poles are worth the money)
Check out bait binder…I’d say it is perfect for beginners.
And fill up with gas!

Thank yall for the previous posts…I did plenty of searching in them before and during our trip.

Good tips. Did you guys boat to the Harbor or drive?

We pulled out and drove down. I don’t think we’ll go back to bulls bay anytime soon.

Another tip for people not familiar with running the intercoastal waterway at night, There are many unmarked Nav markers in the ICWW. I am not new to running that section but all you need is for a little fog or distraction and you could hit a dock or a channel marker. I just want to warn to use extra caution at night…

^^^^ Second that. Unfortunately, I’ve had it happen. One of the worst feelings of my life.
