Full Moon

I’ve never fished just before, on, or just after the full or new moons. Always thought the tide was a bit fast coming and going and the water too muddy to do any good. I saw a cooler full on the full moon in October…nice trout and bass…makes me now wonder. Anyone with thoughts??

Fish don’t stop feeding on new and full moon tides. It’s just tougher to find clear, fishable water. The wind these next few days on top of the moon tides will just make it that much tougher. Around here (Edisto), you can count on the water clearing up near high tide on at least 1 side of the river; especially within sight of the ocean. Some of my most productive days for trout have been on these big tides in November. Also, waaaaaay back in the smaller creeks the water will be clear and fishable. The key is to cover a lot of water until you find the right conditions coinciding with located fish. Trolling 1/4 oz. grubs in the smaller creeks is very effective for finding “new” fish.

Good stuff rad

catch more trout in faster moving water, so long as it is clear.
