Started in the 950’s looking for the elusive Blackfins. Ocean was calm and seemed to have no sign of them. Trolled until 12 and then made a few deep drops. Ended the day with 6 Blackfins, 1 King, 1 Cuda, 3 Sharks, 1 Sailfish, 7 Tile fish, 2 Snowies, and alot of small orange fish from the deep.

Thats great fishing. Were you using rigged ballyhoo or cedar plugs for the tunas?

Any recipe works well, because of the size, I like the small fillets pan seared with a little panko breadcrumbs. whole fish can be gutted and wrapped in foil, place on grill for 20-25 min, lift cooked meat off the large bones, serve with citrus and butter glaze.

Congratulations on your day, Captain. Did you catch the blackfins while deepdropping? Do you add weight to your trolling lures to get them to the bottom when deepdropping?
