May be I was wrong when posted “The water is simply to hot”, but when I’ve talked to a marine biologist a year or so ago about less and less YFT around our coast, he attributed it to the surface water temperature changes to the warm side. Didn’t mean to mislead.

Captain, nice catch. Are you sure the tuna was not a juvenile bigeye? In my experience, yellowfins and bigeyes are almost indistinguishable at certain growth points. I will not insult you by asking you to confirm it was not a blackfin.

Definitely looks like a big eye, Raul - look at the coloration of the finlets. However, the true test would have been to get the person who cleaned it to see if the liver had a striated ventral surface.
