Chunky, Lns Marine, Pallet and myself have been working since January to get the All Rise ready for trolling season, new electronics, power, tackle you name it. Well Tuesday was going to be the big day to splash her down and try some early season trolling! Then…
The phone rang, JW from Full Pull called said he had 4 spots for a day of fun fishing on his boat. Well the decision was tough, take his 57 foot long 18 foot beam 46,000 pound Sporty or our 31 contender. Hmmm… Well less than a microsecond later and with the excitement of a kid at Christmas we canceled the All Rise trip to go with the BIG BOYS!!
Left Greenville at 9 Monday night, to Manning by 12, Lns is at Dads by 2:30am, city police pulls us do to alittle tale wind at 3:imp:, at the dock ready to roll at 4:15am. Casted off at 4:45 and headed toward the hole.
We were greeted with a beautiful ocean and it stayed that way all day. Could not have asked for much better. I caught up on some sleep on a very comfortable bed for the ride out. Lines in at 7:15.
The bite was steady but not on fire. We picked at them all day but never had the big multiple tuna knockdown that we were hoping for.
JW, Captain Ed, and the rest of the crew are truly first class top notch guys. Needless to say JW runs his spread a bit different than we were accustom to. I learned a TON of new techniques yesterday that I look forward to trying out.
Lines in at 3:15.
Ended the day with
Meat fish slam
6 Blackfin (biggest just shy of #25)
1 Dolphin
1 Wahoo #33
and trash fish slam
6 AJs
4 Bonitas
1 Cuda
Highlights (to many to count)
Fishing with JW and Captain Ed was a blast. You will not find a bunch of better guys to fish with. Very knowledgeable and very fun.
JWs killer sushi recipe. I have never tasted BFT like he prepared it.
Watching Roland Martin bass fish on the satellite TV while we tuna fished.
Totally being spoiled by the boat. It is going to be HARD to get back into a cc.
Being part of numerous "Full Pulls
