Full Pull North of the Hole

Not exactly. We were more like 1700 miles north west of the hole, but since the wind wont stop blowing long enough to thaw out a pack of ballyhoo and no one has been fishing I thought an off topic post would be OK. I just had a few pictures from our trip to Canada to share. Hopefully, we will get to fish again soon. I am ready to go.

The Full Pull picture is from 2 days of shooting with 7 people. The limit in Canada is 8 mallards per day and 16 in possession. We were actually a couple shy of the possession limit (112) in the picture.

Edisto, we clean and package all of the ducks and take a possession limit home with us. We also have a restaurant that cooks them for us a few nights during the trip. Anything that might be left over, goes to folks in the area that want them. They are kind of like fish. No one wants a whole fish, but will be more that happy to take a nice bag of filets.

Courtland, I dont know what to say about the resource except we are within the limit (actually under it) and all of the birds are utilized. Unfortunately hunting cant be catch and release.

Thanks for the post Full Pull!!! Don’t listen to the others they are just jealous. They are BOTH notorious for posting pics of coolers full of bottom fish but that is okay just not ducks.

I was suppose to be in Canada a few weeks ago with Holton but we did not make it. Great pics!!

By your clothes looks like it was warm for you.

Duck hunting is a blast! Thanks again for the post. Keep up the good work!

Due to financial constraints the light at then end of the tunnel has been turned off until further notice.

Pretty work JW!

Beautiful! If you can’t cast, at least blast. While you still can my brotha.

Full Pull- You are obviously a gentleman by the way you responded to my “cheap shot”. You paid for a hunt and got what you wanted. We can debate limits and actual usage all day long. Not much different than 60 chickens laying on a dock in C-Town in May. Seems excessive but who am I to say. Good shooting.

Scoutin- I have shot plenty in my day. Grew up duck hunting on the banks of The Navesink River from the time I could stand. The difference is you can choose not to pull the trigger, you can’t choose which fish eats your bait. Doesn’t look like to challenging of a hunt, though.

Courtland- you’re obviously a neoophyte duck hunter to assume its not a challenging hunt. Why would you think its excessive, if by law, they are within their rights? Just say congratulations on a fine hunt and keep the cheap shots and ignorance to yourself, sir. Also, nobody cares what yankee river you grew up on, and how many ruddy ducks and merganzers you killed - its of no relevance here.
As for Edistofisher, people who are duck hunters, real duck hunters (NOT the ones who release mallards in July, feed them corn and shoot them during the “season”), make preparations for the game they harvest. I understand how this could be difficult for you to understand, given your background on hunting.

I like the 2nd picture with the duck folded up on the left hand side. When in doubt, shoot’em out.

What is my background in hunting? Once again you have no idea of what you are talking about. None whatsoever. You just spew. I think maybe you are Plate Charge with a new alias. If not perhaps you two should get together sometime as you both are equal in your pontification.

My My, the wounds run deep don’t they…

Just out of curiosity, how many sleepless nights have I caused you?

You didn’t clean your birds from the previous day so you could take a pic:question:

I bet those are the ones you gave to the locals
