Fun family outing

We havent been fishing lately because we have been traveling around the world for the past month. As fun as it was, I feel so fortunate to call Charleston home. Anyway, we loaded up the livewell with shrimp and mullet and hit a few docks in our creek. We only caught 2 reds and my son caught his first trout. Maybe it is me but I feel like we were wearing out the reds last year at this time. Maybe it was closer to fall? Anyone else think the redfishing is slow right now? I really want to get into trout fishing to give my kids some more action. Any advice would be appreciated, and I will definitely do my research. The kids always have fun playing with bait but want to entertain them with more fish! Here are a couple pics from this morning. All fish were caught under docks on carolina rig and mullet. Bait stealers took all our shrmp!

That is awesome! Lovely family and congrats to the boy on his fish!

Redfish isn’t slow, but it is challenging. On trout, I’ve had luck fishing hugged on the grass, and I mean HUGGED, at either side of high. A nice drop off from the grass seems to do better than shallow.

Good to see you posting again!

Thanks guys! Glad to be back and ready to hit the water more frequently. I have a week to myself as the rest of the fam is heading out of town. Hope to be on the water all day, every day, to figure out where the fish are. Will keep you posted!

My wife is suprisingly OK with it! But she says I have to show her what I learned, and put her on the fish when she gets back. We are keeping it on the “DL” with my son, because he wont be as understanding!
