I took a few good friends out for a relaxed day of bottom fishing on Sunday and we caught the usual suspects and no real surprises. BSB were thick, AJ showed up, a few vermilion and some little tunny. Not much bait except for one cloud chased up by AJs. We fished live bottoms to the south. Liz had a blast driving the boat into the head sea on the way out but was immediately floored with seasickness once we came off throttle. She didn’t recover until we were back at the dock but she still had a good time.
We saw the storms on Radar around noon and ran for the hill a little after 1pm and had lightning strike 100yds off the starboard and that scared the crap out of everyone. We were the only boat out there to the south because nobody else wanted to run into the teeth of it so we took some time for some target practice.

I told everyone to bring whatever they want and that I had food covered. Naturally, we had enough drinks for a frat party and barely made a dent in it.

She looks tan but was totally green all day. That’s ginger ale a
That looks like fun as always man, I expect nothing less from you!
Let’s do that Spanish trip we talked about sometime soon
“mr keys”
Champagne bottles in the cooler? My ‘no bottles on the boat’ policy is almost as strong as my ‘no bananas’. One rough ride and you end up with a cooler of broken glass everywhere.

What’s up with the gun on the boat? What were you shooting at?
We never leave the ramp without a few guns! You never know who or what is out there and if the day is slow you can always target practice! (Bucket tied to a rope works, or at floating debris that you find)
