Funny Business 6/3

We joined the fleet out there today and ran straight out to 1000 ft looking for a finger of warm water along the way that we never found. Trolled back to the ledge with no bites until we got to the ledge area N edisto banks and caught 3 right away. Then got a 25lb king on the planer hoping/thinking it was gonna be a wahoo. We blew it by starting deep and as soon as we got our 3 at the ledge the bite died. We were getting hit on the green, orange, pink color combos and from reading other reports it was a confusing day. Some people did well on blue/white and they wouuldn’t touch that all day. Dark colors didn’t get touched either. We worked the ledge for several hours with only 1 other fish and a few missed short strikes. Very weak day for us and i was bummed.
So we got the bottom fishing mojo going and started on the ledge. Then we came into 100 ft and fished til about 7:30 which was a mistake. The wind picked up hard and we had a TERRIBLE ride in with the worst possible angle on the waves. We put 16 nice triggers, our seabass limit of 20(4 people), porgys, big vermillions, and 1 grouper in the box. Crazy high tide tonight coming back in the creeks was tricky. Congrats to the boats that found the fish and had a good day.

Nice report, thanks
