Guys
I’ve decided to sell a few instead of just making my own. Talk to Nikonjedi for his opinion on 'em.
lengths 5 1/2 - 9 feet, 3 to 7 step tapers, 3 wt -10 wt in mono or Uni thread.
Mono only for salt, your choice for fresh
Shorb loops each end for loop to loop connections
prices $5-13 depending on specs. typical 7 foot 3 step is $6 mailed to your door.
My leader skills are way better than my photography skills.

I’m new to fly fishing. Can you tell me the advantages of this type leader over the 9’ tapered leaders you get at Charleston Angler or Haddrells?
Thanks!!

a furled leader turns over better and has a tiny impact on the surface film. they float (unless w/ fluro) better and allow really one leader a “season”. they have their place in the brine…o yea, the twists offer a sort of shock absorbson quality that is the bees knees as well

Thanks scottyd
The other thing I like is they don’t develop memory. Let them lay curled up for ages, hold up one loop and the fall straight as a stick to their full length.
The turnover is my favorite feature though.

Thanks guys. I’m in for a few. I’ve got two 8wt TFO’s that I use for red-fishing the flats, and one 6wt St. Croix Reign for fishing the ponds for bass. What would you recommend?

Tell me a little more so I can fine tune in on your set up.
How long are the rods?
What pound tippet for each type fishing?
These have been my most popular for redfish and freshwater bass throwing large flies and popping bugs. Saltwater are made from 2# or 4# mono. Freshwater can be 2#, 4# mono or colored Uni thread
6 wt - 7 ft leader, for 10-15# tippet
3 step bass taper where 70% of length is heavy butt section, 20% mid, 10% lightest from 28# to either 12 or 16# (70/20/10,28-12 or 70/20/10, 28-16)
8wt - 5 1/2 to 7 ft leader, for 20# tippet no more than 3 feet long
3 step from 40# to 24# (60/25/15, 40-24)
5 step from 60# to 24# for big honking flies or heavy stuff. (60/25/15, 60-24)
You now know everything you need to make your own except shrinkage and twist.

Thanks, but I’m “too busy”, and too lazy, to make my own, so don’t worry about me taking any of your business!!!
The TFO’s are both 9’ 8wt, and I usually tie about 2’ of 20# mono tippet on the end of the regular 9’ Bonefish/Redfish tapered leaders.
The St. Croix Reign is also 9’, but 6wt, and I usually tie 2’ of 12# mono tippet to the end of a 9’ Bass tapered leader.
I really appreciate the info, and will definitely be in the market for a few of these from you.

I’d set you up with 70/20/10, 28-16 and 2 60/25/15, 40-24
the heavier ones would be mono, the 6wt is your choice mono or Uni.
$18 for the set.
Let me know when you’re ready
