Future Recreation Sites- Cloud's Creek?

In another thread, Reality Bites posted this great link in regards to Lake Murray recreation sites: http://www.saludahydrorelicense.com/documents/ExistingandFutureRecreationSites_000.pdf

I looked around on the http://www.saludahydrorelicense.com webpage but didn’t see any details on the future sites. In particular, I’m interested in what they might have planned at the Cloud’s Creek site at Spann Road. Anybody have a clue what they have in mind or can point me to a webpage link or contact person to ask? Thanks.

According to the Lake Murray Shoreline Management Program: http://www.sceg.com/NR/rdonlyres/C1C54E81-E652-4BE7-A791-05A372C27B40/0/shorelinemanagementplan.pdf

Additional park sites have been set aside by SCE&G. When public demand justifies the need for additional parks, these sites will be developed in cooperation with state and county agencies or independently by SCE&G.

Team Shad Up & Fish

If you’ve had fun catching fish on the transom bait, you are welcome…

I’ve spent about 85% of my life’s wages on fishing, the rest I just wasted…

Appreciate the contacts, unfortunately the vhoffman@scana.com address doesn’t work anymore- or at least not from my computer. It kept coming back as undeliverable.
However, after calling the number you provided, I was directed to the voicemail for the man who is supposed to know- so I left a message. I’ll let you know what he says if he calls me back on Friday.

Got the skinny on the Cloud’s Creek future recreation site from a gentleman named Tommy at SCANA. He said they only plan on making a small site and maybe include a gravel ramp for launching canoes and kayaks. They only own a few acres in this area so there won’t be much to it. Basically, it would be more of a formal launch site for a man-powered boat and a place for bank fishing. He wanted to stress that there is NO TIMELINE for any of the future recreation sites. They haven’t even been relicensed yet. Interestingly, while speaking to me he did mention that they had 650 acres in another creek and have a plan for another State Park. I think he said on Rocky Creek, but I’m not 100% sure on that. Again-there was NO TIMELINE for that project either.
