I’m not sure how recent the move is cause i don’t use that landing a bunch but the no wake zone now extends all the way to the connector. Nobody tonight was obeying the buoys though so i figured it was pretty new. Not sure if they were just used to the old ones or are doing it in defiance cause it is such a long zone.
New as of April 15th. We fished early today and people are clueless about the change.

Was just told by a city fireman on the marine team that they have installed cameras at the no wake zone and will be giving tickets that way via mail using the hull numbers.
Why not put a camera in the boat ramp parking lot and catch a thief when you can ticket a person with money instead!!!

The new zone sucks went from stono to harbor it took like 25 minutes. Just another excuse to give people tickets.
I’m sure there was some strings pulled in high places.
And I agree, if indeed they have installed camera’s, why can’t they put them up all over the parking lot?

Down here is where a signature goes but they can confuse and anger some people so I don’t have one.
^^^^With all of the increased boat traffic, Shem creek paddle board mess and general congestion, disrespect from the public, you have to have the patience of Job to be a fishing guide. I wouldn’t last a day.

No doubt about our waterways being pretty congested, especially with the warm weather coming. But really, do you think it was boaters that wanted a longer “no wake” zone? I’m sure you understand that a good capt can create less wake/or the same up on plane as plowing slowly along (as most inexperienced boaters tend to do). I feel pretty confident the No Wake was mostly pushed by those with piers on the waterways.
If you want to enforce the No wake, put a couple of boats out on the weekend ticketing everyone that violates the law. Not send unanimous tickets, a good visual of people getting citations for breaking the law is a good deterrent for the rest on the water. No one else gets to see a person’s private mail.

talk about overkill and poor execution …
those coming off plane from the harbor and those coming on plane from the landing will meet close to the connector structure where visibility and navigation are limited already. bows up ?
