hey guys,just got my g2vision card from ebay,loaded into my 440s per directions,unit is 5 yrs old,unit says card needed even though I have card in,unit does not see card,is card bad or unit bad?this is a real sd card from garmin,only thing I can think of is get a blank sd card and see if I can transfer data to it,any ideas,thanks

Did you merge it into the unit? It isn’t just plug in play. Speaking from frustrating experience here!

I have a 441s with the g2 card. I just put my card in, turned the unit on and it recognized it. Maybe card is corrupted? I would call Garmin support and see if they could provide any insight.

I have a 551s. I just popped the card in and it worked. I would call Garmin.

Think I can help, I have a 440s ( five years old) If you have never upgraded the software, you have to go to Garmin and download the updates on a 2 gig SD card. That will allow the use of a 4 gig card for later downloads. Note: it has to be a 2 gig only, I just did this Sunday and it worked. Did not install a G2 card but have been thinking about it. Let me know if it`s worth the money in your opinion.

Thanks guys,will try and get garmin support,tried the other night but got frustrated with garmin site as I forgot passwords,etc,and bud lights did not help,will let ya’ll know

I noticed you live in Beaufort, I`ll give you the update on the 2 gig SD card if you want it. I no longer need it.

I had this happen once. I called Garmin and after about 20 minutes they determined that card reader on the unit was bad. I had to send it in to be repaired. Good luck.
