GA fishing license

Anyone purchased a non resident 3 day license or some other amount of days recently? How much was it? SC offers a 14 day for 11$ which I think is very fair. Only thing I can find for GA online is a 3 day HUNTING and fishing license for 20$. I don’t need the hunting part. Anyone have any insight.

From what I can find, that is all they offer!

I have been digging hard and haven’t found anything else as well. Also seen they have a trout license. …Wonder if I need a trout license to have trout in my possession? guess I will just call GA dnr tomorrow

Annual non-resident fishing license is $45. Of course you don’t need one for all waters on the Savannah River system.

I’d rather fish than eat.

I went through the sign up page, because my info was already in the system. All they offered was the fish/hunt combo. They must have recently changed their regs because I use to get a 3 day fish and a trout stamp and it was 10 or 12 bucks. There is a 3 day for saltwater for 5.00. Wonder why they don’t have one listed for fresh.

Saw this on their site:

“All nonresident anglers, 16 years and older, regardless of physical condition, must possess a current nonresident fishing and trout license to fish for or possess trout or to fish in designated trout waters.”

But also found this:

“Game fish may be used as live bait (where live bait is legal and allowed) if they are taken legally and you do not exceed the daily creel and possession limits. You can possess more than the daily creel and possession limit for a species if you purchase the fish from a bona fide fish dealer and keep a bill of sale in your possession.

Since you can have over the limit of trout if you can show you purchased them, maybe you also don’t have to have a trout license if you can show a bill of sale for them?

Post what you find out.

Not on the online site, and the only thing available for $5.00 is a 1-day saltwater shore fishing license. The $20 hunt/fish has been the best short-term deal for a few years now. Not sure if the ‘trout’ license is inclusive, or an add-on stamp, never fished for freshwater trout in GA …

Called GA DNR today and the the only short term license they sell for freshwater fishing is the 20$ hunt/fish combo…which i think is ridiculous. But as Tim thought I can have trout on the boat without a trout stamp as long as i have my receipt. If their calender yr didn’t end in March i would probably just buy a annual license but i may not be back up there till april or may…
