Is there any parking at the Gadsenville Landing area? I am trying to plan a kayaking/camping trip to Capers Island. Wondering if there is anywhere I can leave my truck for a couple days. Does not look like there are any parking spots on Google Earth. Any info or suggestions would be helpful.

See about launching from Isle of Palms Marina…I haven’t made that trip to Capers personally, but I’ve heard about folks launching from IOP marina and keeping their vehicles there. You’ll have to call them to find out fees for launching and parking.

I was talking to Pete at Larson’s auto right down the road about that landing and apparently the kids in the neighborhood right there know the locals’ cars and vandalize any ones they don’t recognize fairly often.I agree with Lewis, maybe check with the USFW about leaving your car at Garris too, I know they’re closed over sunset to sunrise but it might be worth a shot.

Rented a house on goat island last year and had a buddy pick me up at IOP marina where i left my vehicle. It was $10 a day if i remember correctly. Pretty good spot to launch a kayak and know your truck will be fine for a couple days.

I have left my car there overnight without problems. I have talked to some of the neighbors close to the landing, and most have been willing to let me park for a few bucks on their property.
For what its worth, it has been a few years since I have heard of any problems out there.
