2 sailfish and a wahoo.
got rained on all day but the sailfish were there.
Should have caught a few more but it was still a fun short charter for some guys from Tennessee.
(watch out for mustad circle hooks, they will break on you.)

If you want to go catch sailfish out of charleston, now is a great time. multiple shots every day and we have caught a billfish the past 7 trips. Give us a call if you want to get out.
Good to see you using the spinners, Fla. style. We should consider the more sporty way of fishing I believe with more spinners, what’s your opinion?

good going on your day. was that a wahoo or a sailfish that you caught in the rain? just curious. we caught the blackfin tuna in the rain.
mac daddy - most of the folks sailfishing are using TLD 20s, 25s, or TLD 30s. We use 20s. It is plenty sporting.
if i remember correctly all of our fish were caught in the rain!
yeah, we have 4 20 tld’s, a tyrnos, and a couple of spinners for pitch baits.
they will stretch you out pretty good with 4-6lbs of drag no matter which reel.
TLD’s, good choice; I saw a gold reel thinking 30W, I winched a 32 lb. bull dolphin on a 50W once; made me sick. He was actually skimming the water like a bream; I loosened drag for more fight, cpt. said “get that fish in the boat, so we can catch more”. Last trip on that boat, later caught 32 lb. bull on a 30W, was allowed to play that fish a little on a different boat. Still when you are in dolphin I like to lighten up alittle and enjoy the ride. I know anything can take you for a ride, and some consder spooling a ruined day; but what a rush to hook a fish you can’t stop, still love the sound of that line singing even if I don’t get the fish. Just my opinion, not very popular I know.

Diggin’ the new chair. Nice job on the fish guys!
Which style/number/size of Mustad Circle hook were you breaking?
headsandtails,
not sure of the number, but the light wire mustad 8/0 non offset sailfish hook.
I was given them by a friend who has had good luck with them, but i guess each batch is a little different.
i will stick with the eagle claw 2004 7/0 for now.
