Gamo Pellet Rifles

I have purchased 2 Gamo (Hunter Sport) Pellet guns over last few years and neither of them are accurate worth a darn. Plenty of power but all over the place. At 30’ each shot is inches from the previous.

Any thoughts? I have plenty of nuisance squirrel to get rid of.

Thanks all,
NN

I have the same gun and spent loads of time shooting it. At first is was terrible so I cranked about 100 pellets through it. Then took the scope off re-mounted it and used lock-tight on it. Everyonce and a while it still throws a stray but it shoots a 2-3 inch group now. I have 5 different types of pellets for it and it likes the heavier ones better- those goleden ones they give you with it are terrible. I should have read the cabelas review on them most of them say they are crap. Next time i will spent another 150 buck and moved up to a Benjamin. live and learn.

I have a Benjamin 22 air rifle and it don’t have a scope but it is Dang accurate at about 30 yards and plenty of power that’s what i killed my first squril with .

Looks like I need to look at a Benjamin. Any suggestions on which one to get??

Thanks, Guy’s

I too have a Gamo, and I think it is just about garbage. I have a cheap pump Crossman that I got 20 years ago that is more accurate. Not as fast, but certainly more accurate.

I even called the Gamo customer help line. They were helpful and even sent me new seals. Unfortunately, those seals did not seem to do a thing to improve the accuracy.

I have tried cleaning and de-fouling the barrel, still not better.

I’ve got a Ruger Air Mag that I really like. At 70’ it consistantly shoots a 2" group off the bench. Way more accurate than I am…

It also prefers the standard lead pellets, however the plastic “balistic tip” pellets perform just as well. The gold (brass) high velocity pellets, although considerably faster, just aren’t as accurate shooting about a 4" group at 70’.

The first myth of management is that it exists.

The benjerman that i got is just a smiple 22 cal lead pellet pump gun
