Fishing off the Coast Guard pier last weekend at night and saw gar under the pier facing the outgoing tide. They were biting but keep tearing up my lines w/ their teeth. Do they normaly come down the Ashley to the salt side? They’re a freshwater fish it seems. I figured they either mating or looking for warm water. They give a heck of a fight though.
The a long piece of yarn to your hook. You will catch them.

saw a couple in the creeks in Edisto a month back. First though was it was a large trout. Got a better look and realised it was one of those freshwater demon fish.
Caught one by Cosgrove one time that was as big as my leg.
They are everywhere right now and quite easy to catch.
