Hi folks, we have one of these on the boat, and its pretty awesome at what it does, but a few things drive me crazy and I’m hoping someone else has had similiar issues and fixed them.

Getting right over the top of reefs is a pain. The maps include the data for where they are, but I can’t seem to find anywhere that we can navigate to the exact coordinates. Getting us to the general area is good, but makes me for bit of hunting after that to troll close enough over the top/near the thing. I’ve manually entered in a few exact coords, and that works, but the information already there for it to be putting it on the map and time wasted entered dozens of waypoints is something I’d rather avoid.

Is there a good compass attachment for it? I guess its using GPS motion to do its direction pointing, but when going slow it seems to think the boat is flipping every which way, makes for reading the map at idle/slow speed a bit of a pain.

With all the technology I’d love to be able to plan routes/add waypoints/review trips on my laptop once we get back home. It looks like garmin has recently released something called Homeport that would let me do this. Does anyone have experience with it, and how does the syncing/uploading to the chartplotter work?
Thanks all, and happy 4th!
